I would bring back Joan of Arcadia. We never got to see the end. They just cut it off like, mid-season. I would love to see how it ends.
If you had to choose between listening to ONLY your favorite song repeated forever, or different songs from your least favorite genre of music forever, which would you pick and why?
I would listen to my favorite song forever, because I REEEEEEALLY hate Rap. XD
I'd call my mom/dad and tell them I love them.
So, I had a short story project due...tomorrow.... XD I finished it, and I love it. What do you guys think? I love any and all feed back!
To Earn Your Wings
It all began when I woke up one beautiful day. I looked around, but instead of my bedroom, I saw a beautiful green field filled with flowers. A beautiful young boy appeared before me, took my hand, and looked at me with sorrowful eyes.
“Please follow me.” He told me. “There is much to be explained.”
“Can you tell me where I am? I’m so confused…” I said, with a sob rising in my throat.
“All in good time Serafina. All in good time.”
“How do you know my name?” I asked, unbelieving. “I never said it…”
As finished my sentence, we came across a glittering city, unlike any I had ever seen. After we had walked a few paces, a lovely young woman came before me.
“Do you know where you are Serafina?” She asked, in a voice like a song bird. When I shook my head “no”, she put her hand on my cheek and told me, “You are in Fiddler‘s Green. It is your heaven.” I thought back to the folk song I loved, and gasped in disbelief.
“I-I…. died?” I stammered. “What happened?”
“That is not as important as what you must do now. There is a special mission you must complete. You were pulled from life so early, so you have another chance at happiness.”
“What must I do?” I asked her.
“You have three tasks you must perform. One: You must perform one good deed. Two: You must help another human find the right path. Three: You must do everything in your power to make someone else happy.”
“How am I supposed to do all that?” I questioned. “How do I get around?”
“You will find your way.” She told me. “Do not worry.” She disappeared at that moment. The beautiful boy floated a few feet into the air, and snow-white feather wings materialized on his back. I stared in awe as he smiled sadly at me, and flew away in a rush of shuffling feathers. I sat down on the hill overlooking the city, and asked the sky,
“What do I do now?” I asked.
A raven flew down to me, and alighted on the ground in front of me. It bowed its head. It extended its wing to me, and I touched it. The moment my finger touched the soft surface, I was looking down on my hometown, from miles up. The raven was sitting on my shoulder. I looked down at myself, and was surprised by what I saw. Instead of the pink pajamas I had shown up in heaven wearing, I was wearing a roman-style dress, white, with thin lavender satin ribbons criss-crossing my waist, tied in a bow at my side. There was only one sleeve, a thick strip of white fabric over my right shoulder, attached to the top of my dress by a golden ring. It ended at my knees, and I was wearing no shoes. My long brown hair was tied at the side of my neck with a matching lavender ribbon. The raven cawed at me, and I floated myself down. I drifted through my town, not knowing where to go.
“I guess that no one can see me.” I said to myself. I flew in and out of a few crowds to make sure. Then I saw a man I didn’t know walking absentmindedly down the sidewalk. I had a strange feeling that I should follow him. He was alone, and I didn’t feel like he was safe for some reason. As he approached the intersection I noticed that he didn’t slow. The light turned red, and the man kept walking. A car was coming at around 65 miles per hour, and he didn’t see it. I gasped, and sped to him, grabbing his shirt and pulling him back to the curb. He blinked a few times, and then looked around, for the person who saved him. He turned to me, and looked up. I was so frightened that he had seen me, I moved sideways, but his eyes didn’t follow.
“Thank you. Thank you!” He called out. As he uttered these words, a black feather floated into my hands. I blinked, and found myself back in Fiddler’s Green. The raven nudged me with his beak. I held out the feather and he took it. He placed it in a lacquered box that appeared in my hands. The box disappeared, and I found myself on Earth again.
I was in a park, next to a swing set. I saw a little boy in front of me. He was crying bitterly, and an older woman was calling his name. There was someone behind her. He was the most beautiful creature I had ever seen in my life. He has pure white hair, pulled into a low pony-tail with a red ribbon, black eyes, and glittering white fangs behind his lips, which were curved into a sinister grin. He wore a long jacket, made of black leather, black pants, and black boots. Underneath his jacket, he wore a red shirt and barbed-wire chocker. My heart pounded, and every fiber of my being told me to stay away, but I felt drawn in somehow. He vanished, and the woman snapped me back to my senses.
“Jack! Jack! Jack COME HERE NOW!” She yelled. The little boy was crying, and looked very afraid. The woman caught up to him, grabbed his wrist, and raised her hand to strike him. Thinking quickly, I grabbed her wrist and whispered in her ear.
“What do you think you’re doing? He needs you. Stop pushing him away.” I dropped her wrist, and she made a face like she had just been slapped. She fell to her knees and hugged her little boy. She cried tears of sorrow, regret, and fear, as she realized what she had done to her son. The boy cried and hugged her back, as another feather fell into my hands. It was placed into the box with the first.
I had completed two tasks, but didn’t know where to begin on my third. I wandered around on Earth with the raven, secretly hoping to find him again. After days of nothing, I saw him trailing someone else. I followed him, and when he noticed my presence, he grabbed my arm and pulled me to him.
“What exactly are you doing?” He bellowed. “Leave me be!!”
“I j-just c-can’t…” I stammered.
“And why is that? Trying to do me in?” He questioned.
“What do you mean? I don’t understand.”
“Only an Angel can kill a Devil.” Devil. The word struck me like a knife.
“You’re a ‘Devil’? I can’t…believe it…”
“Well believe it honey, cause that’s what I am.” I couldn’t help but notice the hint desire in his velvety voice. I felt so strongly that I wanted to be with him, but I knew it wouldn’t end well. Even though my instincts were screaming, I leaned up and kissed him. He pushed me away, and stared at me, half wanting to kill me, half wanting to kiss me again. I asked him his name.
“Apollo.” He answered, still fighting within himself.
“Like the Greek God?”
“Yes…” He began. “It means ‘Destroyer’.”
“Serafina.”
That was the beginning….and the end. As the days went on, I met with Apollo whenever I could. As we grew closer, and I realized a terrible thing: I was in love with a devil. I still hadn’t completed my final task, and I was growing weaker by the day, but I still didn’t want to leave Apollo. After watching me grow weaker for days, Apollo called me out one dark night. When I got to him, he was in the park where we first met. He pulled me close to him, and kissed me one last time.
“What’s wrong?” I asked. “What’s going on?”
“I need to ask you to do something which you will not want to do.”
“What is it?”
“You’ve been growing weaker by the day, and….I’m afraid it’s my fault.”
“What do you mean? How can it be? It doesn’t make sense!”
“Yes, I know. There is a way to save you. But, you will need to kill me with your own hands.”
“What? NO! I could never!” I cried, with tears stinging my eyes. Apollo, the one I love, asking me to kill him with my own hands? I couldn’t bear it. A sword crystallized before me, and floated above my open hands. The tears overflowed and streamed down my cheeks. A sob escaped my throat.
“Don’t worry Serafina. It’ll be okay. I won’t leave you….” He took my hands and wrapped them around the sword. I closed my eyes and felt him pull the sword through the center of his being. The sword dematerialized, and Apollo lay dying in my arms.
“Sera, you need to always remember, I do love you with all my heart.” Tears filled his eyes and spilled over his cheeks. “You must remember you’ve made me so happy, and given me something I’ll never forget: Love. I….love….you….” He whispered his last words, and I kept crying for him. His body faded away from me, leaving a black feather in my hands. The raven appeared and took it in his beak, and placed it into the box. A bright light floated in my hands, and I felt warmth spreading over my back. A pair of pure white wings shimmered there, and I floated from the ground. The raven took flight into the dark night, and I realized then what my tasks meant. They were there to help me grow, and to earn my wings.
OMFG! I've had a great weekend and week so far!
Saturday night- I slept over my dad's house, and got stuck playing Guitar Hero for 3 HOURS STRAIGHT. XD I couldn't figure out how to save the game on career mode, and had to wait for my stepbrother to come home a 11 o'clock to show me how to save it. XD I got reeeeeaaaally good at it though. After he played a couple songs, we talked for a while about stuff. We disscussed my I-Con drama, but also a lot of other stuff that's happened to us. He told me some funny stories which led to us watching "Donnie Darko" (my newest obsession, right along with Sweeny Todd and The Crow) and snacking/having a drink @ about midnight-3 AM. After the movie we talked about what the heck was going on in it, and then life. LOL
Sunday- Went to see RENT on broadway with some friends! I was with Irrandiancy, and Bettle, Bettle's sister, and our friend Gina. IT WAS AMAAAAAAZZZZZZIIIIIIINNNNNNNGGGGGG!!! The entire way to the theatre in the city, we talked really loud, and screamed about the Pope. We were in the same city as the POPE for a few hours! It was funny. We had so much fun at the show, and at the end got to take a picture with the guys who played Roger and Mark! THEY WERE SOOOO HOOOOOOTTTTTT! X3 After that, we drove home, again talking really loud lol, and went back to Bettle's house to sleep over. We ate burger king, and watched Donnie Darko. It makes more sense the second time, especially when you read the director's interpretation on Wikipedia. LOL At about 3 AM when we went to bed, Bettle whispered one of the creepiest lines in the movie, and gave us all a really bad freakout. XD "Why are you wearing that stupid man suit?" --Frank
Monday- We all woke up, and then ate Chex Mix for breakfast lol. We went into town and walked around, tried on dresses at Mandee's, got pizza, and just had a ton of fun hanging out.
Tuesday- SLEPT. ALL DAY. XD
Eww, reality sux. And I am truly in the "Corner of Woe" today.
Well, at least I can get some advice from the LJ community. At I-Con friday night, I experienced some drama...
I currently have a BF, but we haven't really talked much or hung out in a really long time, so I'm concerned that the relationship isn't doing so well. (I really don't think it is, btw I think he did something bad with another girl while drunk saturday night anyways)
But, I was hanging out with a good friend of mine, (And I mean a REALLY really good friend) and we were chilling at his dorm cuz neither of us had slept for two days, and I took a nap. Once I woke up we chatted for a bit, and we ended up kissing. O.O I know I shouldn't have done it, and I don't have an excuse except for I was so tired that straight thought proccesses were not actually possible. I feel really bad about it, and I know I shouldn't have let it happen, but it was brought to my attention that if I were like, 2 years older, this person and I would be dating. (Most likely.)
I have to talk to my actual BF about it, but I don't think he'll take it well. I'm not really sure how to bring up the subject w/o sounding really horrible. Of course, I feel really horrible about it, but I want him to know that I regret what I did before he just stops listening....
Any advice?
Only 3 more days until I-Con! I have $150 to spend, and a free ticket, thankies to my BFFL Dave. I can't wait three days! Anyone else going? It's at SUNY Stony Brook this weekend!
On another note, I saw "The Crow" recently, and loved it. A fantastic movie.
Yes yes yes, I'm alive. My computer has been dead for weeks, and here I am. Thank your for reminding me to post Miss Gail. ^^
