New Lolita and New Loves

It's been a while, non-existent readers!

In the time since I last posted, I have expanded my wardrobe by at least a couple of pieces. I finished the velveteen JSK that I posted about a while back, and have since made two pairs of bloomers, a star patterned loli nightgown, a floral "Antique Tea Party" skirt, a Jack Skellington themed skirt, and received/purchased a Bodyline "Antique Clock" skirt, a Bodyline white cutsew, a "Twinkle Journey" replica skirt by Oo Jia, a two-toned split wig from Gothic Lolita Wigs, my dream dress, the "Scent of Rapunzel" JSK in black and pink by Alice and the Pirates, a beautiful white and ivy printed ruffled dress made by a friend, Innocent World OTK socks with roses, crowns, and ribbons, a few pairs of assorted striped, floral, of patterned socks, a pair of lace up SS socks, and a few cardigans/blouses that are pretty much off brand. I've also gotten a couple new pairs of shoes: heels, mid calf boots, and tea parties by An*Tai*Na. I've also been coordinating my lovely BtSSB lucky pack pieces.

Not much more to say here I don't think...though I do need to now figure out how to create a personal journal feedback page. That'd be nice to have for sales that are not attached to EGL comm sales I should think!

This past weekend, my friend and I took a trip to NYC and took in an Emilie Autumn Concert! We dressed in semi-ero Lolita. I wore black bloomers, thigh-high striped stockings, black punk boots, a black velvet underbust corset, and my white BtSSB lucky pack blouse. It was an amazing concert and I had too much fun. We spent most of the day in the city at Tokyo Rebel or walking around, and stopped at Gothic Renaissance quickly to meet up with a few others.

Oh, Baby the Stars Shine Bright...Could I love you any more?

So, after a recent and really truly awful weekend, I have stumbled upon (well like three months ago actually...) an ebay seller with BTSSB, AP, AatP, Metamorphose, and Black Peace Now lucky packs! So, after some serious contemplation and self-arguments over the merits of BTSSB vs. AP, I've decided to be of the purchasing a 2011 BTSSB lucky pack! $320 plus $58 shipping, which is MUCH much cheaper than the AP pack... ($400 plus $75 shipping! O.o;)

So, BABY THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT FOR ME! The seller is so nice and is letting me set up a payment plan so I can avoid slapping down $378 at one go. I do have living to do, ha ha. How would I survive for the next three months without shampoo and toothpaste? O.O So I'm eternally grateful to the her. <3

The contents of the Lucky pack are as follows:
1 JSK Black/Pink/Brown
1 Blouse White
1 Hair Accessory Black/Pink/Brown
1 Pair of high socks
1 Usa Kumya phone strap

If anyone has bought a Lucky pack before, can you please tell me if everything comes matched in color?

Lolita Journal (From Deviant Art)

I found this on JekaClover's page on DeviantArt and I just had to do it!

What colours can be found in your Lolita closet?
Pink, (so much pink!) White, Baby blue, Red. (And a little black.)

What is your favourite colour with Lolita?
I really love Baby blue and black, especially in a totally Classic-Victorian the one in all my new pictures.

What is your least favourite colour in Lolita?
I'm not sure I've seen green work in much besides a nice, creamy mint color.

Which uncommon colour do you want to try out?
Purple...which I am accomplishing with my new Jack Skellington skirt.

Are you more a Onepiece, Jumperskirt or a Skirt person?
Jumperskirts. They are quick to make, adorable, and so much fun to design! You can get so crazy...I love one piece dresses, too.

Print or no Print?
I adore prints, but it's so hard to find fabrics that have the big theme on the bottom and a nice, small print on the rest...*sigh* Though I love subtle prints, prints accenting the rest of the dress, or making a big statement with a bold print.

How does a dress/skirt have to look like that it will be a "must have" item for you?
The right color, and a print or style that I just cannot find on anything else! I fell in love with a dress, (the only one I've bought yet,) and HAD to have it. The design was so classic, the color was PERFECT for me, and it just screamed "Classic-Victorian-Alice."

What is your favourite style in Lolita?
Sweet, Classic, and Sailor. So far I've only dabbled in the first two, though I'm hoping to make a Sailor Loli soon. BABY, THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT has full control of my heart...

Which style do you wear regularly?
Sweet, Sweet/Classic.

Which style you want to try out?
Sailor, Wa-Loli, Guro-Loli.

Which style you never want to try out/wear again?
Gothic Lolita...I just don't think I could ever pull it off! Or Ero or Country. (Though I think Country Loli is soooo cute on some people.)

Brands yes or no and why?
Yes, but also no. I am IN LOVE with BABY. LOVE. LOVE LOVE LOVE. I make most of my own dresses from brand designs, modified to my skills, tastes, materials, and ideas.

Which brand is your favourite?
BABY. (In case you couldn't tell...) Also, Mademoiselle Temps De Fille. I also love Victorian Maiden and Moi Meme Moitie.

Which is your least favourite brand?
I don't think I have a least favorite, I really love everything even if I'd never wear it.

Ever had a good/bad experience with brand?
So far, I've only bought anything from Bodyline...(I know, shame on me.) Though the dress I purchased is VERY well made, and completely and utterly perfect on me. I also have a totally adorable sweat-suit set from Bodyline that is again, VERY well made and so cute and comfy. I also purchase my shoes from them and they are great.

Will this experience encourage/stop you from buying brand?
Not really. If I HAVE to, I might. I do love the shoes, but I don't think I'll need to buy any more clothes as I'm going to be making more soon, plus I only ever fell in love with the one dress. I WILL OWN BABY CLOTHES ONE DAY.

Did you ever got surprised by a piece of Lolita?
Yes. I had never thought to design something a particular way and I was so excited to try it next.

Did you ever got disappointed by a piece of Lolita?
I haven't really been disappointed by much, except maybe not being able to find a lace I really love at Joann's.

Things that you like about Lolita?
The ability to feel so cute and like I just stepped back or out of the Victorian era. Also, the expression and fun I have when I finish another dress, all the opportunities to meet other Lolis and have a really great time, have meet-ups, sew, fawn over our favorite brands, cry together when we find out that beautiful BABY jumper costs more than we make in 6 months...Every. Single. Insignificant. Detail.

Things that you dislike on Lolita?
That brands are so expensive...but it does allow for more creative freedom and ingenuity. It makes you want to make it yourself!

Do you have a Lolita fashion idol, if 'yes' who is it?
Momoko of Kamikaze Girls...My darling friend Mi-chan, and Alice.

Does Lolita affect your every day life?
Yes. I constantly search for new designs, dream up what I'm going to make next, doodle (literally, this is INCESSANTLY) on my notebooks and syllabus' in ALL OF MY can look through my notebooks and see the hundreds of pen-scratched designs I've come up it's caused me to want a full, 100% immersion into a Lolita Lifestyle. I want to eat, sleep, breathe Lolita. One day...
Other than that, I'm always coming up with new ideas for cute accessories, swapping ideas and designs and clothes with my friend Mi-chan, sewing with her, scheming with her, and meeting all kinds of new people, especially through DA. (I love all the Lolita groups on here...)

Do you buy Lolita related things, like cute looking furniture?
Unfortunately, as far as furniture goes, no. I live in a dorm room. It's not really condusive to a Lolita lifestyle...But blouses, skirts, shoes, socks, toys, stuffed toys, and bed stuff...Yeah. Books on cute things to be turned into Lolita crafts and accessories, too.

Do you read/buy the Gothic Lolita Bible?
I've read a few, Mi-chan owns a couple in English and Japanese. We want more in America!

How to you describe your fashion style to others that don´t know about Lolita?
Basically, it's a style from Japan which is based on Victorian and Rococo fashions. The idea is to look like a victorian doll. It is really born of the desire to shy away from the over-sexualized culture young girls are forced into, covering up with knee-length dresses, tall socks, bloomers, and the like.

Is there something you want to say to your fellow Lolitas?
Live. Love. Breathe. Sew. Play. And keep your frilly dresses!

A Lolita Outing

So I finally had my wonderful Lolita outing in the city yesterday! I wore my new blue dress with the ruffles and cameo! I wore thick, ribbed white tights and black mary-janes.

We got sushi for lunch, which was delicious. 10 minutes into sitting down I managed to spill soy sauce on myself, which thankfully came out immediately with a little seltzer. <3 Praise to the Lolita Gods! After that, we wandered the garment district and drowned ourselves in fabric stores, where my friend was putting together a Burton's Mad Hatter outfit. I used my spectacular Lolita expertise to help with picking fabric types and colors.

I was also able to find the most beautiful deep-wine colored velvet to create a replica BABY dress, found here:
I can't wait to get started. I just need to get the white to bustle the back, some ribbon, and a few more laces to edge everything. It's going to be beautiful! I cannot wait to get started. With my new baby (my Christmas gift sewing machine,) I'll be sewing like the wind once I get the rest of my materials!

Other than that, I've had an uneventful day. I need to get back to knitting my cardigan, too, once I get some motivation again. XD I finished 2 large books in two days, both of which were started and left about 10-15 pages in each. I'm into the middle 300's on my shuffle, and looking forward to tomorrow. I've forgotten to mention that my friend made me a beautiful chain maile choker with blue beads that I totally love to wear.

Lolita in NYC

Hooray! Going into the city on Thursday for a visit and some Karaoke! Of course, I will be wearing Lolita. <3

I'm very excited! Hopefully I'll have a picture or two to share.

So far, I'm trying to decide on my outfit.

My first JSK, (faux-tiered skirt, in pink with black bows and white lace.) Worn with a black blouse, thick white tights, and black shoes.

My shiro JSK, (all white, gathered lace on boddice, tiered skirt with lace and bows,) with a white or black blouse, white socks and black shoes. (I only grabbed the one pair, plus trekking all over NY in my 5" Loli shoes sounds painful...)

My draped, tiered skirt, (black and white pattern on top, pink underneath with pink bows at each drape.) with black blouse, black tights, black shoes.

Any opinions?

Long Nights and Friend Fights

This mostly just rhymed. Otherwise, I did have a really long night full of nightmares. It sucked. We've also been having some drama here at college, so I've been floating around in my room, the designated "Drama-Free Zone."

Otherwise, chilling out, trying to finish an art project that I dislike and don't understand. XDDDD

Class in an hour, don't wanna go, tired, long night, drama seems to be mostly fixed as of right now. My room mate and I decided to get really bored yesterday and hauled my bed up onto the end-tables from under our desks so I have a really high-up bed now. XD

I'm rambling now...but I ordered another set of Loli shoes for a very good price, have 7 complete Loli outfits now, (enough for every day of the week without repeat, YAY~) and a lot more Lolita fun to be had this winter break. Christmas shopping needs to be done, Christmas cards need to be made, and fun fun fun!

International Lolita Day

Today was International Lolita Day, (still is!) so a group of my friends and I got together at the Strong Museum of Play in Rochester and had a meet-up! We took a zillion pictures, had a ton of fun, got a ton of positive interest and questions from parents and people at the museum! A group even wanted pictures. :)

It was too much fun, but I'm so wiped now! I'm going to start getting ready for the winter semi-formal in a bit, which will be nice. I'm going to seep well tonight. Though I'm sad, as this is my third week in a row missing my riding lesson for one reason or another. Pictures on facebook for anyone that is desperate to see them.

Aishiteru, BABY, The Stars Shine Bright...

BABY, The Stars Shine Bright has stolen my heart now has the "Twinkle Journey" pattern produced by Metamorphose Temps De Fille...DAMN YOU, LOLITA. <3

I have fallen hard and fast for a JSK in the Twinkle Journey pattern by Metamorphose, but I'll never ever ever have the money for it. XD So I'll dream away....

BABY, on the other hand, doesn't ship overseas anyway, but their Velveteen Royal Princess Jumper Skirt has become my new obsession. Anyone wanna buy it for meeee~? :3

Interesting Dreams...

So I had a very very long, highly interesting dream. DISCLAIMER: Parts of it were related to a book I was reading before bed, called The Prophecy of the Sisters, but the rest was all my brain.

It started out at my Aunt Helene's, and for some reason my Uncle Sal was looking for a suit. My mother and I were sitting at the breakfast counter in the kitchen, hearing a lot of sirens. We eventually left, driving around on people's lawns to let the firetrucks and ambulances through. (There was a house fire on the block, but the block didn't look like my Aunt's in real life?) I spotted the house that had the fire, and we drove past it and straight over someone's beautiful "antique" garden. We got out of the car and started to help fix it, and I was helping pull up the mesh over it. I was then moving the soil to replant the plants. One of them had a huge hole under it, and we were pushing the soil into the hole. For some reason, we were then singing a song about a plant, and ate a really red berry that looked and felt like a grape, but tasted really sweet and good. Then the garden was gone and it was a huge, gaping hole in the ground, so deep you could see like 30 different sedimentary rock layers. I commented on the layers, and started slipping towards the hole with a sense of vertigo. I pulled myself up, and then moved around the edge of the hole to fall in behind a few people, into a chasm full of soil and that was very dark. I climbed up and then got a phone call, (here's where the book part begins, but only the italic parts came from the book.) from a soul in The Otherworlds, basically the spirit worlds, who needed help crossing over. I agreed and climbed back into the hole to leave my body and travel into the Otherworlds. I helped the spirit cross, and was in an old fashioned parlor with toys and things everywhere. I turned on a music box like one I have, and it played that lullaby with the mockingbird. I then started searching for clues to find my father (character in the book was doing that before I passed out,) and followed the first clue.

I found the next clue somewhere near a train in a different world, got captured, and then ended up on a train moving through the worlds. I turned and spoke to a friend of mine, (That's you, Tei-chan,) and realized that these were the trains that were going back empty. (Apparently some allusion to earlier in the dream that I don't quite remember.) I told her that the people couldn't see us because we were spirits and they were taking us somewhere. We saw a tent, much like a circus tent or a Ren Faire tent, and it drove us in. Someone was there to cut the astral cord, (the cord that connected our spirits to our bodies,) by taking our hearts out. I realized they didn't have my body, so I managed to escape into the Ren Faire by floating away out of the train and tent, (the train wasn't really closed anyway, just seats on a track.) and couldn't fly anymore because my spirit was too long away from my body. I landed and started to make my way on foot, passing a bunch of Ren Faire related booths and people, somehow ending up in a fairy costume with the wings I made this summer. I found my real father, and an old friend, (that's you, Chris.) and they were helping me. We got a group together to help me escape from the people tying to kill me, (Still in the otherworlds, everyone got the astral cord thing,) and we all cheered and toasted to protecting me. I did a back-flip off a picnic table and started moving. We headed toward a sleep-away camp-like cabin, for some reason that's where I stayed. I told everyone they'd think my body was there, but I knew where it was, still at the bottom of the hole in the garden. I started to head toward the cabin, but realized I wouldn't be able to escape them if I went there. So I told Chris we were getting a boat, leaped over the fence on the lake, and hopped into a tiny little floating thing with a seat. I started paddling around the lake, about to make it to the edge when my alarm went off.

So weird. I can remember almost all of it, way back from the beginning. There's a lot of detail in the places where I was, but it's all little things like the items in that parlor, the colors, and emotions.

Let's start over.

So. I'm starting this LiveJournal OVER. Moving on from like sixth grade finally. I am disbelieving that I'm already 19 though. So how are things in the real world? I've been sinking further from reality into the land of Lolita. XD I created two (was it only two?) new dresses and two new skirts this semester alone. Though living in Lolita land isn't that bad at all! :3

I'm pretty much moving along with my major and should be on my way to graduation on time. I'd also like to see about squeezing in a semester of studying abroad at some point. I also can't wait to get together with some NYC local Lolitas this winter.

Today was a pretty good day. Long, but good. Tomorrow I've got a program at my place of work, which should be fun. I have a few commissions and other things to worry about, too. Not much homework as of right now, however.
